Abstract

Journalism education, in its broadest sense, is more necessary than ever. From the point of view of the strategic management of journalistic companies, the profession faces an extremely volatile ecosystem marked by permanent changes in consumer habits, a phenomenon promoted by the indisputable dominance of technological giants in the digital market. Social platforms have become the main intermediary between information and citizens, thus relegating the media to a significantly less prominent role than at the dawn of the 21st century. As this work analyzes, journalism education needs new approaches, methodologies and perspectives to adapt to the reality of the current media ecosystem.
