Abstract

This article addresses the importance of the principles of clear communication or plain language in the law that regulates contracts with consumers and users, as well as contracts for the supply of digital content and services. These principles guarantee the right of consumers to receive clear, truthful, and complete information about contracts, especially relevant for vulnerable consumers. The importance of complying with the Ley General para la Defensa de los Consumidores y Usuarios (LGDCU) (the general statue for the defense of consumers and users) and Directive (EU) 2019/770 is highlighted. The article focuses on analyzing legal language and contracts for the supply of digital content and services, identifying common errors in writing and editing. As a result, a master contract is proposed that complies with the principles of clear communication and adapts to the needs of all consumers, including the most vulnerable.
