La representación del periodismo televisivo en la serie Argon (NETFLIX, 2017)

Resumen

Este artículo proporciona un análisis temático de la primera temporada de la serie de ficción surcoreana Argon (Netflix, 2017), que está centrada en el trabajo desarrollado por un programa informativo de una cadena de televisión. El objetivo principal de esta investigación es describir la imagen que se traslada a la audiencia del periodista televisivo en su afán por desvelar la verdad y ser honesto. La investigación concluye que la serie traslada un mensaje realista de la profesión, resaltando los principales problemas a los que se enfrenta el periodista actual y aportando una propuesta ética en el modo de hacer periodismo de investigación. 

This article provides a thematic analysis of the first season of the South Korean fiction Series “Argon” (Netflix, 2017). This series focuses on the work developed by a television program. The main objective of this investigation is to describe the image that is transferred to the audience of the television journalist in his eagerness to reveal the truth and honesty. The investigation concludes that the series conveys a realistic representation of the profession, highlighting the main problems faced by the journalist today and providing an ethical proposal in the way of doing investigative journalism.

María Fernanda Novoa (mnovoa@alumni.unav.es) es estudiante de doctorado en el Programa de Comunicación de la Universidad de Navarra. Graduada en Periodismo, con un Máster de Investigación en Ciencias Sociales (Universidad de Navarra). Actualmente está investigando sobre la representación del periodismo en las series de ficción contemporáneas. Su interés se centra en la investigación sobre roles profesionales y estereotipos en la cultura popular.

Javier Serrano-Puche (jserrano@unav.es) es Profesor Contratado Doctor en la Facultad de Comunicación de la Universidad de Navarra, donde es profesor en el área de Teoría de la Comunicación e investigador del Center for Internet Studies and Digital Life. Ha sido investigador visitante en la London School of Economics (LSE). Sus líneas de investigación son el consumo de noticias digitales, las emociones en el uso de la tecnología y la educación mediática. Sus publicaciones sobre estas cuestiones han aparecido en revistas como International Journal of Communication, Comunicar y El profesional de la información y en editoriales como Springer, IGI Global, McGraw Hill o Tecnos, entre otras.
